Project Overview
The company is assembling a skilled Construction Management and Contract Administration team to support a significant grading and earthworks infrastructure project located in Alberta. This project involves extensive transportation corridor and infrastructure developments requiring high-quality workmanship and contract adherence.
Role Summary
We are looking for knowledgeable Field Inspectors specializing in grading and earthworks who will act as the Owner’s on-site representatives. The role involves verifying compliance with design drawings and specifications, monitoring project quality, schedule, and budget, and supporting contract administration activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Owner’s representative on-site and in coordination activities
- Ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Supervise project schedule, budget, and quality parameters
- Contribute to contract administration and prepare detailed reports
Requirements and Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Minimum of five years' experience inspecting grading, excavation, and earthworks
- Experience in roadway or corridor construction projects
- Proficiency in inspecting excavation, compaction, subgrade, and granular material placement
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong skills in field reporting and quality assurance documentation
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for specific on-site tasks
Preferred Certifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) accredited by APEGA for senior or technical positions
- Safety certifications such as CSTS or First Aid
- Relevant QA/QC or materials testing certifications
Compensation and Application
