Role Overview

The business is looking for a seasoned Estimator with 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in construction cost estimation and tender preparation. This person will create precise cost forecasts, assess project scope and requirements, work closely with internal departments and subcontractors, and contribute to the tender process to help secure commercially sound and competitive bids.

Candidates with experience in high-end residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or luxury construction work will have a clear advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Study tender packs, drawings, specifications, and contract terms to define the full project scope.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents for construction assignments.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and cost comparisons using project details and current market pricing.
• Request and review pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Spot project risks, opportunities to reduce cost, and value engineering options.
• Work with design, procurement, planning, and project teams throughout the bidding phase.
• Prepare technical and commercial tender clarifications and join tender discussions when needed.
• Keep cost databases, past cost records, and supplier/subcontractor pricing data current.
• Review variations, scope changes, and how they affect overall project cost.
• Support management in shaping bid strategy and leading tender negotiations.
• Deliver estimates on time while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completeness.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or a closely related field.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in estimation and tendering in the construction sector.
• A demonstrated history of producing estimates for large building developments.
• Experience across luxury residential, hospitality, villa, high-end fit-out, or premium mixed-use projects is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of local market pricing, construction techniques, and procurement methods.
• Background in luxury and high-spec construction projects.
• Comfort with value engineering methods and cost-optimization practices.
• Knowledge of construction pricing trends in the UAE/GCC market.
• Exposure to FIDIC contracts and related commercial practices.

Additional Information

This role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and follows a full-time, onsite work arrangement.
