Roofing Cladding & Building Ltd, based in Southampton, is an established industrial roofing and cladding contractor with more than three decades of experience. The company handles projects ranging from £1,000 to £3 million, serving both main contractors and direct clients.

Job Role and Responsibilities

We seek an adaptable estimator with a hands-on approach who can independently manage tasks and reliably price jobs varying from small-scale works to comprehensive design and build contracts. This role requires strong communication skills, loyalty, and the flexibility to handle all types of quotations.

• Lead and manage the entire tender process including feasibility studies and Bills of Quantities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Prepare and submit price proposals for construction works and tender packages, ensuring completion and follow-up of all tender documentation.
• Analyse drawings and specifications thoroughly to cover all project aspects.
• Collaborate closely with Contract Managers and draughtsmen.
• Price construction variations and small works accurately.

Applicant Requirements

• Proven experience in estimating within the industrial roofing and cladding or commercial and industrial construction sectors.
• Competence with estimating software is preferred.
• Familiarity with schedules of rates costing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Driving license and CSCS card are beneficial.
• Ability to establish professional relationships with clients and suppliers.

Additional Information

• Immediate availability for this office-based position, with occasional site visits and meetings.
• Modern, small company office located near J3 M27 and Redbridge train station (10-minute walk), with free parking.
• Holiday entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays, including a compulsory minimum of 5 days during Christmas closure.
• Salary package dependent on experience, approximately £50,000 per annum.
