Job Overview
Sisk Group is seeking to appoint an Estimator to join their UK Construction division. This role is hybrid with office presence expected in Solihull, St Albans, or Warrington. Candidates from Tier 1 contractors, regional, or subcontractors are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Record and distribute all tender documentation, amendments, and client communications to the relevant team members.
- Create subcontractor enquiry schedules based on input from tendering and procurement teams; send out subcontract enquiries including detailed scope and attendance requirements.
- Evaluate competitor bids in context of current market conditions.
- Organize bills of quantities where necessary and validate measures and descriptions through spot checks.
- Track and manage delivery of materials such as concrete, reinforcement, and structural products.
- Assist in setting up site facilities like hoardings and accommodations.
- Conduct snagging and de-snagging prior to project handover.
- Ensure safety by reviewing subcontractor safety plans and developing method statements.
- Continuously improve professional skills and mentor junior colleagues.
- Maintain enquiry schedules and follow up to ensure timely tender submissions.
- Raise and resolve queries related to tender processes.
- Review tender designs to identify and propose value engineering opportunities.
- Document clarifications and estimator notes for project files.
- Incorporate late-stage tender amendments into submissions.
- Assist with tender risk assessments and opportunity evaluations.
- Help prepare schedules for value engineering activities.
- Issue material enquiries and evaluate supplier feedback.
- Analyze subcontractor tender returns; prepare assessment schedules for adjudication.
- Determine fixed price and contingency provisions needed for tender settlements.
- Produce clear documentation for settlements, highlighting costs, risks, and benefits.
- Manage tender sum analyses including cash flow forecasts for approvals.
- Participate in adjudication meetings and enact necessary changes.
- Compile client pricing documents such as tender forms, contract sum analysis, and preliminaries breakdown for submission.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong knowledge of estimating methodologies and experience with Conquest or similar estimating software.
- Understanding of multiple procurement routes.
- Relevant experience and familiarity with NEC contracts.
- Approximately five years of experience working on-site preferred.
- Current and comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost factors.
- Numerical and analytical precision with keen attention to detail is an advantage.
- Ability to quantify measurements in accordance with standard measurement methods is desirable.
- Skilled in managing time effectively and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is essential.
- Possession of a valid CSCS card.
- Professional membership or efforts to join a relevant professional body are favorable.
- Commitment to continuing professional development in estimating, pre-construction, or commercial management is advantageous.
