Role Overview

We are seeking an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to lead EHS initiatives across the EMEA region. As the company rapidly expands within the UK, Ireland, and continental Europe, there is a need for skilled EHS leadership on the ground. This person will manage daily EHS activities regionally and contribute to developing standards that enable effective global EHS operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute EHS protocols across EMEA sites, including site inspections, hazard and risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations.
• Conduct investigations into workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses, managing occupational health cases collaboratively with providers, HR, and legal teams.
• Represent EHS for employees and partners in region, supporting health and safety committees and emergency response groups according to local legislative requirements.
• Coordinate with landlords, building management, and contractors to ensure safety standards in shared environments.
• Develop and adapt core EHS programs—including emergency plans, fire safety, ergonomics, and training—for UK, Ireland, France, Germany, and other EU countries.
• Oversee fire safety compliance, managing fire risk assessments, remediation tracking, and duty-holder responsibilities in line with relevant laws.
• Manage environmental health activities such as hazardous material handling, indoor air quality monitoring, water safety, and lighting standards related to ergonomics and design.
• Support new office and country launches through EHS assessments, advisory on design and setup, and implementation of local EHS programs.
• Deliver EHS training to employees and manage vendor relationships for occupational health, ergonomics, training, and audits.
• Maintain accurate EHS documentation, registers, and reporting systems throughout the region.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 7 years' experience leading EHS operations, preferably within multi-country environments.
• Thorough understanding of UK and Irish EHS regulations, with knowledge of additional EU jurisdictions such as France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
• Experience with European fire safety regulations, including conducting fire risk assessments and fulfilling duty-holder obligations.
• Strong ability to interpret and implement regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety.
• Enthusiastic about workplace EHS and effective in motivating collaboration and engagement on related programs.
• Adept at managing priorities amidst fast-changing and ambiguous situations.
• Skilled in writing clear SOPs, playbooks, and training materials, as well as creating engaging presentations.
• Proficient with software tools used for incident reporting, risk assessments, learning management, and similar functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related areas.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Chartered or graduate membership in IOSH, CIEH, or comparable European bodies.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Knowledge of French CSE/CHSCT procedures, DUERP, or German BetrSichV standards.
• Background experience in occupational health, fire safety, or industrial hygiene.
• Proven experience establishing EHS frameworks for new offices or countries.
• Strong computer proficiency with rapid adaptability to new systems and applications.

Additional Details

This role offers an annual salary range from €125,000 to €165,000 EUR. The position requires at least a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role. Employees are expected to spend approximately 25% of their time onsite, although some roles may require higher onsite presence.
