Role overview
This contract position supports a home health care organization by keeping electronic medical record data accurate, complete, and dependable. The role is based fully onsite in Bradenton, Florida for a 4-week assignment and focuses on reconciling clinical, demographic, enrollment, claims, and documentation information across several systems so care delivery, compliance, reimbursement, and day-to-day operations remain on track.
What you will do
- Compare and reconcile patient demographic, clinical, insurance, enrollment, and provider details across multiple healthcare platforms.
- Track down and resolve mismatches between the EMR and payer, claims, referral, scheduling, and other supporting systems.
- Check records for accuracy so documentation, quality measures, regulatory obligations, and reimbursement processes are properly supported.
- Carry out routine audits to find duplicate files, missing information, inconsistent documentation, and other data integrity concerns.
- Work closely with clinical staff, registration, revenue cycle, health information management, care coordination, and quality teams to close data gaps.
- Monitor assigned reconciliation queues and complete work within expected service timelines.
- Keep clear records of reconciliation steps taken and how issues were resolved.
- Escalate problems that cannot be resolved locally and suggest improvements that strengthen workflow efficiency.
- Take part in efforts to improve EMR data quality and overall operational performance.
- Stay current on EMR features, healthcare documentation rules, and regulatory expectations.
- Follow HIPAA, CMS, state, federal, and organizational privacy and confidentiality requirements at all times.
What we are looking for
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; healthcare-related education or certification is preferred.
- At least 2 years of data entry experience is preferred, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Hands-on experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) system.
- Background in data validation, reconciliation, auditing, or documentation review is preferred.
- LPN experience or other healthcare experience with EMR charting is a plus.
- Comfort working with several healthcare information systems.
- Good working knowledge of healthcare documentation standards, regulations, and privacy laws.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on data accuracy.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and fix discrepancies.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Compensation and schedule
The role pays $21 per hour. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
