Driver Examiner II

Key Duties

• Perform road tests for commercial and passenger vehicles (Classes 1 to 8), assessing knowledge, skills, and safe driving practices.
• Conduct re-examinations as mandated under the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.
• Use sound judgment to evaluate driver performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist customers at the Driver Licensing Centre by explaining licensing procedures, responding to inquiries, and processing payments between tests.
• Effectively manage daily schedules to meet testing targets and service standards.
• Operate independently while being a contributing member of a customer-focused, safety-driven team.
• Adapt to diverse working environments including varying weather conditions and customer vehicle interiors.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and operating within customer vehicles.

Additional Requirements

• Successful health assessment compliant with the job's demands.
• Clear criminal record check as per the Criminal Records Review Act.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver's license or higher with a clean driving record.
• Ability to achieve the minimum required score on a data-entry assessment specific to the role.
• Must satisfactorily complete Class 5/7 training and testing within probation.
• Willingness to travel overnight occasionally for road tests or training, as required.
• Required to work a 7.5-hour, Monday to Friday workweek with potential schedule changes including shifts Tuesday to Saturday.
