About the Role

Town and Country Housing is seeking a dependable and careful Domestic Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and safety of its supported housing scheme. This essential position involves upholding immaculate standards across communal spaces to provide tenants with a hygienic, secure, and inviting atmosphere. The Cleaner will collaborate closely with the Housing Officer, adhere to detailed cleaning schedules, and respect the privacy, belongings, and specific preferences of tenants. A strong focus on health and safety, infection prevention, and compliance with relevant housing regulations and COSHH guidelines is imperative.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all communal areas, including dining rooms, toilets, assisted bathrooms, and shared facilities, are kept to an excellent level of cleanliness.
• Contribute to creating a pleasant, comfortable, and safe environment that tenants will appreciate and take pride in calling home.
• Work alongside the Housing Officer and the broader team to follow established cleaning routines and promote wellbeing within the housing scheme.
• Employ cleaning supplies and equipment safely and responsibly with diligent attention to health and safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Identify and promptly report any repairs, maintenance needs, or incidents as they arise, assisting in the smooth operation of the service.
• Participate actively in training sessions, staff supervision, and team briefings to continuously enhance skills and uphold quality service standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proven reliability and conscientiousness in previous cleaning or similar roles.
• Ability to work respectfully with vulnerable tenants, maintaining their privacy and dignity.
• A good understanding of health and safety practices, especially concerning infection control and COSHH regulations.
• Strong teamwork skills with willingness to collaborate and communicate effectively within a housing support environment.
• Commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards consistently.
