Position Summary
The Director role is crucial for supporting digital procurement and operational excellence across the group. This position leads design, enhancement, and oversight of various reporting and analytics tools to optimize procurement sourcing, supplier management, and contract administration. The candidate will act as primary support for sourcing platforms ensuring smooth usage, user training, and quality data delivery. The role also champions operational excellence across multiple domains including Network Operations Center (NOC), Security Operations Center (SOC), field maintenance, and services like roaming. Leadership includes driving technology strategies, roadmaps, and governance standards aligned with group visions and fostering collaboration across departments and subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage operations and managed services technology strategies, ensuring deployment and alignment with group goals.
- Develop group-wide roadmaps, architectures, and best practices for operations and managed services technologies.
- Enforce governance frameworks, architectural standards, and collaborate closely with technology, strategy, and business teams.
- Coordinate with strategic sourcing for vendor selection and synergy realization, providing technical expertise.
- Drive centers of excellence in assigned domains and contribute to other areas such as Engineering and IT as needed.
- Supervise alignment of subsidiary projects and vendor collaborations with group models.
- Participate as a technical expert in subsidiary strategic planning and budgeting processes.
- Support subsidiaries in resolving technology-related operations issues within the predefined framework.
- Assist in M&A technology due diligence activities.
- Contribute to the senior management governance processes of group technology.
- Standardize network operation processes and performance management tools.
- Promote cross-subsidiary knowledge sharing and evaluate organizational efficiencies with actionable leadership recommendations.
- Define managed services models and lead vendor performance reviews, contract negotiations, and transitions.
- Ensure collaboration and alignment with procurement, finance, commercial, strategy, and customer experience teams.
Team Interactions
- Internal: Coordinate with heads and peers in group technology, finance, consumer, and strategy functions, as well as CTOs and technology leaders in subsidiaries.
- External: Manage relationships with vendors including key account managers and technical contacts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience in telecommunications operations, network service assurance, or network operations.
- Prior leadership roles at major telecom operators, with international exposure preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of RAN, Transmission (Tx), core networks, and service delivery essentials.
- Certifications such as Six Sigma and ETIL advantageous.
- Strong IT networking foundation with extensive hands-on experience in mobile network planning, design, implementation, and operations.
- Deep understanding of telecom infrastructure technologies, systems integration, engineering practices, and cost optimization strategies.
- Experience working with network technology vendor products for planning and performance.
- Demonstrated ability to translate marketing and commercial objectives into technology initiatives and strategies.
Education
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification, supplemented by industry training in RAN, Tx, and core network platform technologies preferred.
