The Hoxton is launching its second property in Germany located in vibrant Hamburg, a city known for its impressive architecture, numerous canals, parks, culture, and dynamic food scene. This hotel is part of the Alter Wall revitalization project and will offer 188 rooms in various sizes, a spacious lobby bar, a ground floor restaurant, a rooftop dining venue, and The Apartment – a distinctive event and meeting space.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Director of Rooms to oversee the housekeeping, maintenance, and front office units to ensure exceptional guest care and exceed expectations. This role includes ownership of the rooms profit and loss, maintaining quality standards, leading teams, managing budgets, and driving continuous improvement in service and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the housekeeping, maintenance, and front office teams ensuring excellent guest service and satisfaction.
• Ensure all hotel standard operating procedures are understood, trained, and followed consistently.
• Own the rooms department financials, contributing to annual budgeting and controlling expenses.
• Manage quality evaluation systems and implement initiatives to raise service standards.
• Resolve guest issues promptly to maximize satisfaction.
• Identify and implement process improvements across all rooms-related operations.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to payroll, recruitment, disciplinary matters, grievances, and appraisals.
• Coach and develop team members, setting ambitious yet achievable goals and providing feedback regularly.
• Take full responsibility for projects involving housekeeping, maintenance, and front office operations.
• Manage policy and procedure updates proactively within rooms divisions.
• Build and sustain excellent relationships with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate actively in the hotel’s crisis management and fire safety teams with full knowledge of relevant procedures.
