Serving as the Director of Ambulatory Operations, you will strategically lead day-to-day functions, including operational optimization, transformative initiatives, clinic planning and design, staffing development, performance enhancement, business planning, patient experience improvement, clinician collaboration, and care coordination. This role oversees assigned 'Big Box' hospital-based and community ambulatory sites plus a portfolio of smaller regional practices.

The Director translates organizational and ambulatory strategic goals into operational plans, managing budgets and enhancing organizational effectiveness. Collaborating with administration, finance, clinical leadership, and providers, you will define key performance metrics, apply best practices, and recommend improvements in care coordination and operational efficiency. A primary responsibility is ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, seamless care delivery, superior patient safety, satisfaction, and accessibility within your sites.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise administrative functions of large ambulatory sites housing major services and at least 21 exam rooms.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve ambulatory care delivery models with full staff alignment and engagement.
  • Collaborate on clinical and financial program strategies to meet defined goals.
  • Lead human resource activities including selection, development, motivation, and retention of talented healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate onboarding and integration of new clinicians according to established protocols ensuring success.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, risk management, and compliance standards per state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in site design, renovation, expansion, or consolidation, ensuring compliance and effective project management across teams.
  • Create standardized operational policies to enhance effectiveness and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related discipline is required; MBA or MHA is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years advancing leadership experience in large group practice environments, including significant business and financial expertise within complex healthcare systems.
