Job Overview
Join Thom Child & Family Services in Boston, MA, as an Early Intervention Developmental Specialist focusing on supporting infants and toddlers aged 0-3 years who are experiencing or at risk of developmental delays. This role involves delivering specialized home and community-based early intervention services that prioritize family values, culture, and needs through collaborative partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct multidisciplinary assessments evaluating children's developmental progress.
- Deliver direct developmental activities and services tailored to children under three and their families.
- Contribute to crafting Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) by setting goals and strategies pertaining to child development.
- Document progress, prepare reports, and maintain communication as needed.
- Provide individual and group interventions focusing on various developmental domains including cognitive, social-emotional, motor skills, and communication.
- Evaluate family and child strengths and monitor ongoing progress.
- Coordinate services by managing scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of intervention plans within specified procedures and deadlines.
- Offer professional guidance and supportive assistance to families.
- Promote parent-child interactions to foster development and empower families to advocate for their children.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Intervention, Child Development, Child Studies, Education, or Special Education, including at least 300 hours of practical experience with young children.
- Preferred experience working with infants, toddlers, and their families.
- Understanding of family systems and early childhood development principles.
- Ability to build meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
- Dedication to providing individualized, culturally sensitive services.
- Strong written, verbal communication, organizational, and documentation capabilities.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries rigorously.
- Proficient computer skills and accurate record keeping.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation required.
- Bilingual and bicultural competencies are advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging from $51,000 to $56,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
