Role Overview

We are seeking a Designer to elevate the visual quality of all Story outputs, ranging from pitch decks and brand systems to thumbnails, social media content, and occasional print or web materials. The role involves close teamwork with marketing, motion design, and client strategy teams to ensure all deliverables uphold the high standards expected of a top-tier agency.

Responsibilities

• Create polished, branded pitch decks, proposal templates, and internal presentations.
• Design social media thumbnails, graphics, and key artwork for original projects and client work.
• Participate in brand identity development including style guides, typography, color palettes, and layouts.
• Collaborate with motion designers and editors to maintain visual cohesion between static and animated elements.
• Maintain organized file management, version control, and meet project deadlines.
• Provide timely support for client-facing presentations and materials under tight schedules.

Philosophy on AI

Story values human creativity over AI replacement but embraces AI as a supportive tool for moodboarding, production efficiency, and workflow enhancement when beneficial.

Requirements

• Impressive portfolio showcasing brand, social media, and presentation design work.
• Proficient with Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Willingness to undertake a paid design test during hiring.
• Located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Formal education or prior work experience is not mandatory; focus is on demonstrated skill through portfolio.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary ranging between $70,000 and $100,000, based on experience.
