Role Overview
As Department Second Produce, you will provide friendly and professional customer service while supporting all functions within the Produce Department. You will oversee produce staff during the Produce Manager's absence and actively promote a culture focused on employee coaching and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver customer service tailored to individual needs
- Supervise produce team members when the Produce Manager is unavailable
- Encourage employee development and coaching initiatives
- Complete customer produce orders efficiently
- Receive and process incoming produce shipments
- Conduct daily produce preparation and ensure quality
- Merchandise the produce department attractively and effectively
- Apply and promote SMART retailing principles specific to the Atlantic region
- Maintain strict sanitation and hygiene standards within the department
- Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures
- Perform necessary administrative tasks related to department operations
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 12 months relevant experience in a similar retail or produce environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong ability to work independently within a fast-paced setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and capability to multitask effectively
Work Model and Location
This position requires on-site presence at least three days weekly to foster team collaboration and maintain office culture.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this full-time role ranges from $17.00 to $21.80 per hour, determined by factors including work location, experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity. The total rewards package includes:
