Datacentre Project Manager

Role overview

This position is for an experienced Datacentre Project Manager who will oversee retrofit and infrastructure upgrade programs across Microsoft data centers in the EMEA region. The work focuses on telecom, fiber, mechanical, electrical, and environmental improvement projects carried out inside active mission-critical sites.

The role is fully remote, with onsite travel to Dublin required once or twice each month.

What you will do

• Direct retrofit and fit-out programs in data centers, including modernization work for tape libraries.
• Coordinate projects involving telecommunications systems, fiber, structured cabling, MEP works, environmental controls, and containment changes.
• Work closely with contractors, vendors, engineers, and operations teams to keep delivery on track.
• Own project scope, timelines, budget control, risk tracking, and status reporting.
• Make sure all construction activity is performed safely in live data center environments.
• Help prepare operations for new hardware and infrastructure integration.

Experience sought

• Background in managing data center construction, retrofit, or fit-out projects.
• Hands-on experience with telecommunications infrastructure and fiber rollout work.
• Experience coordinating mechanical and electrical construction activities.
• Ability to manage vendors and contractors effectively.
• Track record of delivering capital projects in mission-critical facilities.

Preferred background

• Exposure to telecom or hyperscale data center settings.
• Experience with live-site retrofits, infrastructure modernization, and telecom construction initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination capability.
