Data Scientist (UM)

Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist to work onsite in Montpelier, VT, focusing on predictive analytics and machine learning models to support various business objectives within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management across all levels to identify and formulate predictive analytics solutions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain machine learning models both internally and on cloud platforms.
• Perform theoretical evaluations and regular assessments of model effectiveness and accuracy.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in industry trends and machine learning techniques.
• Provide analytical support and predictive insights to different departments as needed.
• Generate regulatory reports related to machine learning model outcomes and compliance.
• Investigate and apply AI-based solutions to improve business processes.
• Automate data-driven workflows to increase efficiency.
• Analyze financial data to assess current and forecast future financial performance.
• Engage in complex data analysis working within dynamic data environments.
• Build and manage databases containing vital information for planning and forecasting activities.
• Work jointly with management to compile, analyze, and summarize data for financial plans, acquisition activities, business planning, trend analysis, government requirements, and operational forecasts.
• Conduct competitor and peer analysis.
• Assist in executing special projects as assigned.

Performance Metrics

• Production models consistently surpass manual decision-making in efficiency and value tradeoff.
• Quarterly assessment of all model performances.
• Regular updates of models every quarter or as necessary.
• Monitoring systems to detect underperforming models with prompt improvements or retirements.
• Continuous evaluation of AI tools and processes to ensure accuracy and operational effectiveness.
