Job Overview
Reporting to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, the Data and Reporting Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting institutional research activities. This includes gathering data from across college departments, utilizing specialized software to process and analyze information, and preparing reports for both internal stakeholders and external bodies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collect data from various college departments and apply computer programs for data manipulation and analysis.
- Collaborate with the Director to prepare and curate required reports for state, federal agencies, and internal college constituents such as faculty and administration.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with college departments possessing relevant data access, ensuring timely and efficient data submission.
- Act as the liaison between the Director and different academic and staff divisions, including providing training on new software tools and report preparation.
- Stay informed about best practices for data collection, analysis, mandated reporting guidelines, and related college procedures.
- Oversee the management and upkeep of the Informer database system.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma combined with experience in systems development, maintenance, technical support, or database management system support; alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a related discipline may substitute the work experience requirement.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries such as aggregations, joins, common table expressions, and window functions.
- Preferred experience with Python focused on DataFrame handling, file I/O, and basic data transformation and analysis functions.
- Proven ability to multitask effectively, work independently, and maintain meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments.
- Capability to evaluate technology solutions and provide recommendations, as well as develop and manage historical data archives and comparative institutional data sets.
- Familiarity with Colleague software and Microsoft Office Suite is required; experience with Campus Labs software is an additional advantage.
