ITV’s Central Insights team is looking for a Data Analyst to support the Insight Group in understanding the UK television market, changing viewer habits, and the opportunities that sit ahead in a fast-moving media environment. The role focuses on turning data into practical insight that helps teams make stronger decisions across content, scheduling, marketing, product, strategy, and performance planning.

In this position, you will work with Insight Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Analysts, and wider business stakeholders to interpret challenges, answer complex questions, and produce insights that are clear, reliable, and useful. You will be expected to deliver analytical work for your business area, including dashboards, reports, recommendations, and other outputs that support decision-making and ITV’s strategic goals.

ITV is focused on strengthening streaming while improving broadcast performance, with data and insight at the centre of its digital transformation. The team supports important business questions such as what content should be commissioned, which audiences offer the strongest commercial opportunity, how marketing should be shaped, how product changes can improve view-through rates, and how VOD can help balance decline in linear TV.

The Insights function aims to guide the business toward better outcomes by bringing integrity, creativity, and measurable impact to key decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Study audience behaviour and turn findings into insight that supports business value.
  • Produce accurate analysis on how viewers engage with ITV content across broadcast, VOD, and SVOD.
  • Present analytics in a way that is clear, strategic, and accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build analysis, dashboards, and reports that show performance against key business KPIs.
  • Support proof-of-concept work for new metrics, methodologies, segmentation approaches, and analytical techniques.
  • Help develop and roll out dashboard solutions that enable self-serve analytics across the business.
  • Assess the impact of content, release plans, marketing activity, and product experiments, and help shape future test recommendations.
  • Work with large, complex datasets to identify patterns, opportunities, and risks in viewer and content performance.
  • Contribute to forecasting and performance analysis for major business KPIs.
  • Partner with specialists and stakeholders across the business to move projects forward efficiently.
  • Promote strong analytical standards, including clear documentation, repeatable workflows, and high-quality delivery.

Required skills and experience

  • Previous experience, or comparable exposure, in a data analytics role with the ability to convert complex data into meaningful insight.
  • Capability to create insightful dashboards and analytical outputs.
  • Confidence presenting findings through reports, slide decks, dashboards, and email.
  • Hands-on experience using SQL to work with large datasets.
  • Working knowledge of analytical methods and statistical ideas.
  • Experience using Python for analytics, data preparation, or modelling.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to producing trusted, well-documented work.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tell compelling stories from data.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with analysts, insight experts, and business partners.
  • A questioning, analytical mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and understand limitations in the data.
