Dairy / Frozen Department Manager

Position Overview

The Dairy/Frozen Department Manager is responsible for overseeing merchandise and coordinating the work of Associates within the Dairy and Frozen departments of a Walmart store. This role ensures compliance with modular setups, perpetual inventory accuracy, merchandise management, and excellent customer service in line with Walmart's core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Management Team by supervising the assigned department, including mentoring, training, assigning tasks, recognizing performance, and effective communication with Hourly Associates.
• Ensure timely ordering of merchandise to maintain stock levels.
• Maintain zero pricing errors through adherence to the Scanning Credibility Program.
• Observe cold chain compliance standards, including thermometer calibrations, temperature logging, proper food handling, product rotation, and monitoring sell-by and expiration dates.
• Follow strict sanitation, cleaning protocols, and food safety procedures.
• Manage proper markup/markdown processes, price adjustments, signage, clearance strategies, competitor pricing, and competition shopping.
• Address and resolve customer complaints, inspect returned items, and promote positive public relations.
• Manage departmental budgets, including controlling shrinkage.

Compensation

This position starts at a minimum wage of $18.25 per hour.
