Job description
Role Overview
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you become the visible representative of Tesco, delivering orders directly to customers in their homes. This position involves more than just driving; it requires a commitment to excellent customer service and helping people with a positive attitude. The work is physically active, varied, and independent but supported by a dedicated team at the store.
Working Hours
- Sunday: 09:00 - 19:00
- Tuesday: 19:00 - 23:00
- Wednesday: 14:30 - 20:00
- Thursday: 18:00 - 22:00
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the van, trays, and workspace to ensure every delivery meets quality standards.
- Load the delivery vehicle safely and perform thorough checks to confirm it is roadworthy and ready for service.
- Communicate any order adjustments, substitutions, or short-dated item concerns to customers clearly and with friendliness, managing refunds if necessary to guarantee a positive shopping experience.
- Handle products carefully, respecting each order to uphold quality and customer confidence.
- Deliver orders punctually within scheduled time windows, providing warm and authentic customer service that leaves customers feeling valued.
Candidate Requirements
- Build strong cooperative relationships with colleagues to foster a supportive team environment.
- Demonstrate a warm and approachable manner with both customers and teammates.
- Adapt quickly to changing customer requirements and embrace operational changes on the road and at the store.
- Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA full or automatic driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
