Position Summary
BW Offshore seeks a Cost Controller to join their teams in Darwin, Australia, or Singapore for a 12-month temporary contract. The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for comprehensive cost tracking and control throughout the asset lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze expenses across asset lifecycle phases including operations, modifications, life extension, and decommissioning/demobilization to ensure precise cost capture and categorization aligned with budgets.
- Collaborate with functional teams to understand cost influences, verify budgeting forecasts, and maintain accurate expenditure records.
- Support the preparation, consolidation, and review of yearly budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation in line with operational and business strategies.
- Generate monthly cost and forecast reports coordinating closely with stakeholders to ensure completeness and timeliness.
- Assist management by assessing historical data, benchmarking technical scopes, and offering operational insights to optimize costs.
- Perform reconciliations of actual costs versus budgets to support precise, verifiable reimbursable claims to clients.
- Evaluate variations, change requests, and contractual amendments by delivering detailed cost impact and recoverability assessments.
- Provide Commercial and Estimating teams with essential input on operational and capital expenditures to ensure accurate cost representations.
- Maintain integrity of cost data within ERP and control systems and assist with audits, client reviews, and corporate reporting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- Previous experience is not mandatory.
Skills Required
- Strong proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel including VBA, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or JDE and related processes.
- Excellent communication abilities for effective interaction with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset capable of fostering positive relationships across departments.
- Proactive attitude with strong analytical, logical reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
