Content Designer

About the Role

As a Content Designer at Meta, you will develop user-centered, clear, and engaging product content that enhances the experience for billions of users globally. Working through a language-focused design approach, you will influence product flows, feature content, navigation systems, and naming conventions across platforms such as mobile, desktop, AR/VR, hardware, and voice interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, compose, revise, and test concise and persuasive content within products to guide users effectively, covering product flows, interface text, educational materials, product names, navigation terminology, and taxonomies across Meta products.
• Apply systemic thinking to define design system guidelines, audit current content experiences, and create robust information architectures.
• Collaborate with code by updating and reviewing in-product language within software, utilizing internal tools and ensuring personalized user experiences.
• Engage actively with UX design colleagues for feedback to enhance product quality.
• Create detailed design mockups using Figma components to communicate design ideas.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, research, marketing, and data science to develop products from concept to release.
• Work in partnership with the internationalization team to maintain high standards of product experience across multiple languages.
• Exemplify strong judgement to influence product strategies and team direction, assess user/company risks, and communicate product compromises effectively to stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and lead cross-team initiatives, organizing or co-leading design sprints and workshops as needed.
• Contribute to internal community building by mentoring other content designers and supporting their professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in UX writing.
• Demonstrable examples of wireframes or design mockups created with design tools that have informed team decision-making.
• Proven capability in distilling complex concepts into simple, persuasive messaging for broad audiences.
• Experience managing and updating content at scale using appropriate tools.
• Work experience related to design systems and systemic design approaches.
• Ability to independently lead projects and navigate significant ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in content strategy, linguistics, or information architecture.
• Proven success integrating artificial intelligence tools to optimize workflows and drive impactful results like improved efficiency and quality.
• Knowledge and application of ethical AI practices, including risk assessment and bias mitigation.
• Experience mentoring or managing content design teams.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
• Continuous skill development in AI technologies such as prompt engineering and agent orchestration.
• Background designing for emerging platforms including AR/VR and voice interfaces.
• Experience contributing to large-scale, cross-functional product projects.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $146,000 to $209,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. Benefits information is also available at Meta.
