Role Overview

We seek a Communications Manager responsible for hands-on execution of media relations, partner communications, and executive support. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, this role involves crafting and managing press releases, working with journalists, coordinating across teams for approvals, and maintaining seamless communication operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Pitch stories and secure media coverage across mainstream, tier-1, and specialized outlets to enhance MoonPay's global brand recognition.
• Manage the entire press release process from writing and review to legal clearance, partner approval, and distribution via PR Newswire.
• Develop and maintain a robust network of media contacts, continuously identifying new journalists and fostering ongoing relationships for future coverage.
• Respond to incoming press inquiries promptly, coordinating with internal experts for accurate information.
• Compile detailed media coverage reports and monitor visibility metrics.
• Create supporting content including blog posts for the company’s Newsroom Source and prepare materials for award submissions.
• Draft briefing notes and talking points for executives’ appearances such as panels, interviews, and fireside chats.
• Manage speaker logistics for events, including registrations, scheduling, and communications with organizers.
• Collaborate with product, partnerships, legal, and leadership teams worldwide to synchronize messaging and announcement timing.
• Oversee relationships with PR platforms and vendor services.
• Maintain the go-to-market pipeline tracker and flag any scheduling conflicts or dependencies.

Candidate Profile

• 4 to 6 years’ experience in journalism, communications, public relations, or media relations, preferably within crypto, fintech, or fast-growing technology sectors.
• Exceptional writing skills capable of producing polished press releases, blog content, briefing documents, and social media posts.
• Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, asynchronous environment across multiple teams.
• Strong organizational skills to juggle numerous projects and adhere to a rapidly evolving editorial calendar.
• Experience using wire distribution and PR tools such as Muck Rack or Cision.
• Deep understanding of the crypto ecosystem, including stablecoins, on/off-ramps, and relevant regulation.
• Exposure to coordinating with external PR agencies and international media is advantageous but not required.
• Agency experience in crypto or fintech-focused PR is a plus.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 per year.
