Commis III - Pastry

Role Overview

This position is part of the pastry kitchen team at The Luxury Collection in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based on-site. The role supports the preparation and presentation of baked and pastry items while maintaining strong standards for food safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Key Duties

• Prepare menu items in line with recipe instructions, quality benchmarks, presentation requirements, and kitchen preparation checklists.
• Get ingredients ready for production by measuring, cutting, portioning, and storing them properly before use.
• Use baking tools, measuring equipment, and kitchen appliances safely and correctly when making baked products.
• Maintain food safety practices, including proper handling methods and personal hygiene standards.
• Monitor appliance temperatures and food temperatures, and escalate any equipment or food quality issues to the supervisor or management team.
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen area, set up the workstation at the start of the shift, and restore it at the end of the shift.
• Track the quality of food prepared and the portions served throughout the shift.
• Follow company policies and procedures covering safety, security, and workplace conduct.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately and complete required safety training or certifications.
• Keep uniform and personal appearance neat, professional, and in line with company standards.
• Protect confidential company information and company property.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and answer phone calls using proper etiquette when required.
• Build positive working relationships and contribute to team objectives and shared service goals.
• Meet all quality standards and job expectations established by the employer.
• Carry out additional reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required Background

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification is required.

Working Conditions
