Commis 1 - Employee Dining Restaurant

Job Summary

Join The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal as a Commis 1 in our Employee Dining Restaurant. In this role, you will prepare meals according to recipes and presentation standards, manage food temperatures and quality, and assist with cold food preparation. You will also maintain food logs and communicate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items as needed.
• Control oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures.
• Thaw frozen items by moving them from freezer to refrigerator storage.
• Ensure correct portions, appearance, and garnish of food.
• Keep accurate food preparation records.
• Monitor and maintain food quality and quantity standards.
• Coordinate with management and kitchen team during busy times.
• Notify Chef about surplus food for daily specials.
• Inform Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and items unavailable.

Additional Duties

• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and coaching staff; act as a role model.
• Adhere to company safety and security policies; report hazards, accidents, and required maintenance.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of company information.
• Anticipate guest service needs and communicate clearly.
• Build positive work relationships and support team goals.
• Follow quality standards and be physically able to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform other tasks required by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
• At least three years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience necessary.
• Certification or license not required.
