Job Overview

The Civil Engineer will contribute to water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure projects by delivering advanced civil design and engineering calculations for municipal and industrial clients. This position involves producing and assessing Civil 3D models and technical drawings associated with water, wastewater, stormwater, sewer systems, roadways, and land development while adhering to client specifications, quality guidelines, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Create and review Civil 3D models and civil infrastructure drawings.
Develop grading plans, site layouts, utilities, roadways, and detailed plan and profile drawings.
Design and analyze surfaces, alignments, corridors, and pipe networks using Civil 3D software.
Examine engineering markups along with survey and GIS datasets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engineers within Burns & McDonnell US operations.
Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure alignment with client and company standards.
Address technical challenges and assist in on-time project delivery.
Guide junior engineers and contribute to the development of Civil 3D standards and best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
At least 3 to 8 years’ experience in general civil engineering, ideally focused on water, wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or land development projects.

Required Skills

Extensive experience and proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
Knowledge of grading, roadway design, stormwater management, sanitary sewer systems, water distribution, and land development.
Strong familiarity with Civil 3D standards, drafting conventions, and reinforced concrete detailing.
Understanding of survey data, GIS technologies, and U.S. municipal standards.
Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
