Role Overview

KidStrong Summerville is rapidly expanding and seeking an enthusiastic, energetic Childrens Coach. This role involves engaging with children and parents to positively influence children's physical, cognitive, and character development through a structured monthly curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Lead classes with 6 to 15 children aged approximately 12 months to 11 years.
• Deliver the KidStrong curriculum as designed by the headquarters programming team, ensuring timely start and finish of classes in line with curriculum pacing.
• Greet and interact personally with students and their parents or guardians before and at the start of classes.
• Maintain a professional, dynamic, motivational, and enjoyable environment.
• Demonstrate and manage exercise techniques and activities.
• Keep the center clean and sanitary, including lobby, bathrooms, floors, equipment, and mats, performing tasks like trash disposal, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down.
• Use the KS Coach’s App effectively to track attendance, awards, and maintain class records for parents.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues via Slack and respond to messages regularly when off-site.
• Undergo training through FranConnect required by HQ for certification.
• Operate in a physically demanding setting, moving around extensively and handling equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Provide hands-on assistance to children to ensure safety and correct technique, particularly for younger children (under age three).
• Attend monthly programming meetings for curriculum updates and additional mandatory staff meetings as directed.
• Manage special classes during school breaks (Winter, Summer) via Coach KidStrong Academy.
• Achieve and maintain certified status through HQ training and certification team.

Qualifications

• Strong passion for working with children is essential.
• Experience coaching children within the KidStrong age range is preferred.
• Capable of educating and communicating with parents about the curriculum.
• Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise science, and body mechanics.
• Current CPR certification.
• Effective, positive interpersonal communication and motivation skills.
• A proactive approach and ability to complete tasks independently.
• Comfortable in the spotlight and engaging groups.
• Athletic or coaching experience with pediatric or therapeutic backgrounds is advantageous but not required.

Schedule and Compensation

• Classes generally occur weekdays from 9 am to 11 am or evenings until 7 pm, with weekend sessions from 8 am to noon.
• Flexible scheduling options for part-time or full-time work are available depending on center needs.
• Potential to increase hours through private party coaching.
