Position Overview
Stoppler Hughes is searching for a seasoned Chief Technology Officer (CTO) located in Calgary to spearhead the enterprise's data, technology, and analytics vision. This leadership role involves developing and managing the organization's comprehensive data architecture and driving the implementation of advanced business intelligence to translate operational data into strategic insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the company’s enterprise data architecture and overall technology strategy.
- Plan, design, and deploy a centralized data warehouse and data lake solution.
- Manage integration efforts involving Oracle databases and enterprise connectivity systems.
- Structure and sustain customer, contract, and billing data frameworks.
- Construct executive dashboards and KPI reports to monitor company metrics.
- Prepare consistent weekly and monthly executive-level reporting packages.
- Develop insightful reports addressing Customer count, churn, Revenue (Annual Recurring Revenue/ Gross Merchandise Value), margins segmented by cohort, and risk exposures such as hedging and load.
- Enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Collaborate intimately with the Finance department to support accrual, hedge, and cash flow forecasting reports.
- Lead internal and outsourced development teams, prioritizing software development and technological innovation.
- Drive automation to streamline and enhance business processes.
- Ensure systems remain scalable, secure, and reliable at all times.
- Formulate a long-range technology strategy focusing on security, system redundancy, cloud migration, and modernization of the data stack.
- Work in partnership with executive leadership and cross-functional teams across Finance, Sales, Operations, and Technology.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- A robust professional history spanning 10 to 15 years in advancing technology leadership roles.
- Extensive expertise in Data Engineering, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data Architecture, SQL and relational database modeling, and enterprise system integration.
- Proven experience leading technical teams and managing external vendor relationships.
- Exceptional communication prowess and executive-level presentation abilities.
- Experience within the energy, utilities, or building systems domains is advantageous but not mandatory.
Reporting & Compensation
The CTO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The total remuneration package includes a base salary ranging from $175,000 to $230,000, supplemented by a performance bonus between 10% and 20% of the base pay.
