The organization is entering a growth phase focused on expanding educational offerings, strengthening financial stability, modernizing internal operations, safeguarding historic climate records, and building a long-term future serving both science and the public.

The role blends high-level coordination with hands-on support, and day-to-day work may range from preparing board materials and meeting donors to running programs, coordinating volunteers, handling technology issues, stocking the gift shop, or helping maintain the campus.

Success in this role requires comfort both in formal leadership settings and in practical, on-the-ground work. The organization values initiative, humility, curiosity, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

  • Help manage budgets and other assigned initiatives.
  • Plan and execute conferences, rentals, public events, and fundraising activities.
  • Manage logistics from early planning through completion.
  • Lead special projects that advance institutional priorities.
  • Provide hands-on campus support when required, including event setup and breakdown, moving equipment, basic grounds and facility upkeep, landscaping, recycling and waste coordination, snow preparation, and similar tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Proven ability to juggle several complex projects at once.
  • Strong communication, organization, and people skills.
  • Good judgment, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
