About the Role
Join L'Oréal, the global leader in beauty, at our Clark, New Jersey site as a Chemist in the Skincare Luxe Development team. Drive innovation by formulating advanced skincare products that blend luxury with scientific excellence. Work alongside a global network of researchers and industry experts dedicated to creating superior skincare solutions for prestigious luxury brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and refine novel skincare formulations across diverse product types, focusing on luxurious textures and potent efficacy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&I teams, business stakeholders, and industrial partners worldwide to ensure product excellence and timely delivery.
- Design and execute thorough research and performance validation to meet rigorous quality, safety, microbiology, and regulatory benchmarks.
- Develop expertise in formulation science through hands-on involvement in projects from concept to launch, guided by senior scientists.
- Stay updated on market trends and consumer insight to inform innovative and strategic formulation approaches.
- Maintain high laboratory standards by prioritizing tasks, meticulously documenting experiments, and promoting a cooperative team environment.
Candidate Profile
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific field.
- 1 to 3 years of laboratory or research experience; prior skincare or personal care product formulation is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong motivation to develop specialty expertise in cosmetic science and formulation techniques.
- Project-focused mindset with the capacity to contribute to innovative, functional products under senior guidance.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
- Personal attributes including innovation, entrepreneurial drive, integrative teamwork, problem-solving skills, scientific rigor, and curiosity about consumer trends.
- Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States without sponsorship and ability to work onsite five days a week.
