Position Overview
The cashier role is essential for delivering excellent customer service by ensuring transactions are handled quickly, courteously, accurately, and safely. Responsibilities include processing checkout and return transactions while managing the self-checkout section. Cashiers actively seek to improve product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and identify potential sales opportunities. Strict adherence to company policies and procedures is important to reduce loss through shrinkage.
Senior Responsibilities
The Head Cashier supports and organizes cashier staff by prioritizing price checks, approving transactions and markdowns across multiple registers (including self-checkout, returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental). They handle first-level customer complaint escalations and play a key role in training, coaching, and supervising front-end associates, fostering development through available tools and active mentoring.
Required Experience
The preferred candidate will have over one year of previous cashier experience, making them well equipped to handle both operational and leadership duties at the point of sale.
