About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and self-assured Career Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) Advisor to support individuals serving custodial sentences. This position involves assisting offenders in custody to prepare for employment upon release, aiming to equip them with the necessary skills and opportunities to successfully reintegrate and reduce reoffending rates.
Key Responsibilities
The advisor will work directly with offenders to engage them in educational, training, and employment programs, helping them to make positive life changes and develop a fresh start after release.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrates confidence and a proactive work ethic.
- Possesses strong communication abilities with a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach.
- Skilled in working with databases and committed to maintaining high attention to detail.
- Preferably experienced in supporting offenders or other vulnerable populations to improve their life circumstances.
- Capable of building meaningful connections to motivate progress within a challenging prison environment.
- Committed to adhering to quality and compliance standards while meeting individual performance targets.

Work Hours and Benefits
- Standard workweek of 37.5 hours with flexitime options, ensuring hours worked over regular schedules can be compensated with time off.
- Salary range between £26,485 and £30,012 annually.
- Reimbursement for any travel beyond the primary work location.
- Generous vacation entitlement starting at 25 days plus bank holidays, with the potential to earn up to 6 additional days based on length of service.
