Role Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Buyer, based at key locations including Montreal, Quebec, Vaughan, and Toronto, Ontario. This position plays a crucial role in managing inventory and procurement, particularly focusing on fresh and produce categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and monitor KPIs related to service levels, online shop availability, inventory turnover, and minimizing shrinkage in fresh items.
  • Oversee inventory and service performance for assigned product categories.
  • Execute the replenishment process including purchase orders for regular turn items, promotions, and investment purchases.
  • Ensure inventory turnover and service levels meet organizational goals.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement best-in-class inventory management practices to exceed benchmarks in order fulfillment, freshness, shrink control, and turnover.
  • Manage budget adherence for replenishment activities aligned with regional and banner strategies.
  • Monitor vendor performance regarding order fulfillment and timely deliveries, taking proactive steps as needed.
  • Communicate and identify improvement opportunities with vendors, Category Management, Merchandising, Replenishment, and Logistics teams.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess an Undergraduate Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a DEC with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of demand forecasting principles and inventory planning methodologies.
  • Proficient in Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Previous purchasing experience within Fresh or Produce categories is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems is considered an asset.
