Business Analytics Consultant

Overview

This role offers an opportunity for a Business Analytics Consultant to assist product and distribution teams by delivering data-driven insights and strategic reports. The position involves sourcing and analyzing business data, developing key performance indicators (KPIs), creating comprehensive reporting tools, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to bolster informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, organize, and analyze extensive business datasets while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Oversee and curate data from diverse sources, understanding the connections among important data elements.
• Conduct data analysis using various Business Intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Alteryx, Tableau, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Design and produce KPI reports, dashboards, presentations, and other reporting materials tailored for business stakeholders.
• Perform on-demand analyses relating to product performance metrics, advisor recruitment and retention, compensation plans, and revenue indicators.
• Interpret and communicate trends, findings, and actionable recommendations to management teams.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine reporting and analytics capabilities continuously.
• Identify process automation opportunities to enhance and streamline reporting practices.
• Offer technical assistance to users of Business Intelligence platforms.
• Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support various reporting and data requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least five years of experience in business analytics, reporting, or similar analytical roles.
• Minimum three years experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Business Intelligence tools like Tableau or MicroStrategy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple competing priorities and comfortably work with large datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or related fields is an advantage.
• Seven or more years of experience in business analytics or reporting.
• Background in insurance, wealth management, broker-dealer, or other financial services sectors preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL.
• Experience developing reports and analytics within Business Intelligence platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and presentation abilities.
