Overview

Sheen Falls Lodge in Killarney, County Kerry is seeking a full-time Breakfast & Afternoon Lounge Manager with substantial expertise in food service and a keen attention to 5-star quality detail. This role focuses on delivering welcoming and efficient breakfast, room service, afternoon lounge, and lunch/function services at the WPCC, maintaining a pristine and sanitary setting that complies with both hotel policies and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality standards and service procedures for breakfast and AM room service.
• Supervise the Breakfast Supervisor to ensure proper duty fulfillment.
• Participate as part of the breakfast and bar/lounge teams during service hours.
• Manage inventory and control of breakfast items, crockery, and glassware.
• Handle purchasing of stock, glassware, and utensils relevant to breakfast service.
• Provide staff communication, training, and development focused on breakfast and room service operations.
• Promote excellent guest service and satisfaction during breakfast and afternoon lounge shifts.
• Maintain all HACCP protocols including service, still room cleanliness, temperature monitoring, and perishables labeling.
• Coordinate with the Restaurant Director for event organization and operational matters.
• Report departmental and team performance issues to Restaurant and F&B Directors.
• Verify staff scheduling and communicate any adjustments needed to F&B management.
• Ensure timely breaks for team members adhering to hotel and government rules.

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in food and beverage service within a 5-star hotel or luxury setting such as a Relais & Chateaux property. They must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, superb communication skills, and the ability to lead and nurture a team effectively to attain exceptional customer and staff satisfaction. Previous experience in managing staff training, development, and retention is essential. This position works on a roster that includes weekends and demands a strong commitment to quality service and operational excellence.
