Job description

Job Overview

This role entails managing the deployment and execution of Building Information Modelling (BIM) within a major infrastructure project encompassing roads, utilities, and urban developments. The BIM Manager will coordinate BIM standards, modeling, workflows, and data management, facilitating collaboration among design, construction, and project control teams to enhance project delivery, clash detection, and ensure compliance with client and industry BIM standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce BIM requirements per project, including BIM Execution Plans, Level of Detail matrices, modeling methodologies, coordination strategies, collaboration timelines, file formats, and communicate these to all involved consultants and contractors.
  • Conduct audits of design and construction models to check for consistency, verify attached scheduling and BOQ data, detect overlapping or duplicated geometries, warnings, file sizes, and excessive modeling; audits occur at each consultant and contractor submission to minimize utility clashes and facilitate accurate scheduling and quantities.
  • Coordinate BIM-related activities among the Lead Design Consultant, other consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate integration and alignment with program and construction needs; monitor model progress, identify integration issues, support multidisciplinary coordination, and ensure BIM outputs meet project objectives in line with PMC design management duties.
  • Participate in and support coordination meetings with consultants.
  • Assist project teams in extracting model information and creating visualizations.
  • Review utility clash reports, BOQs, and material specifications derived from BIM models.
  • Explain models, sections, and clashes to clients using software like Navisworks and AutoCAD 360.
  • Attend technical coordination workshops to gather details for developing bespoke project BIM strategies.
  • Review and update BIM protocols and documentation to secure successful project implementation.
  • Audit all BIM documentation and models against standards to ensure smooth transitions across project phases (design, construction, operations) and team members.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health policies throughout employment.
  • Perform additional tasks delegated by supervisors, including occasional drafting to support PMC activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of BIM management experience covering all phases.
  • Minimum 3 years' recent experience in a similar role within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team.
