Banksman

Role Overview

We are seeking a diligent Banksman to oversee and direct vehicle movements at our bustling Widnes facility. This role demands strict adherence to safety, excellent communication with drivers and site personnel, and continuous vigilance in a dynamic yard environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and safely control the flow of vehicles within the yard area.
• Provide precise and clear signals and instructions to drivers on site.
• Maintain active communication with weighbridge operators and other operational team members.
• Ensure that all first-time visitors undergo the mandatory site induction process.
• Monitor conformity with site operating schedules and enforce traffic rules.
• Report instances of drivers not complying with movement directives.
• Enforce personal protective equipment (PPE) regulations consistently.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free yard by removing debris and obstacles.
• Coordinate cleaning assistance as necessary to uphold site standards.
• Support other onsite teams with various tasks as required.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses excellent communication skills for instructing drivers effectively.
• Confident in delivering unambiguous directions to vehicle operators.
• Highly safety-oriented and attentive to site conditions.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working mainly outdoors in operational areas.
• Experience in environments such as yards, recycling centers, or logistics is preferable.
