Role Overview

As an Avionics Maintenance Technician, you will diagnose and fix issues at the component level within various avionics systems including navigation, communication, pulse, radar, audio, and autopilot systems, along with related aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general avionics maintenance on aircraft, including removal, installation, and repair of panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and assess aircraft systems when assigned.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and its components as designated.
• Assist with aircraft movement and verify system performance.
• Maintain and repair shop facilities, tools, and equipment supporting operations.
• Collaborate with customers on project management, pricing, and support tasks.
• Independently manage assigned projects.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Utilize basic computer skills for electronic training platforms, manuals, and maintenance databases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal training in electronics or avionics from a factory setting is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license vetted for airline travel or a passport is favorable but not required.
• Preferably at least one year of experience in avionics repair or installation.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Frequent walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and repetitive arm and hand motions.
• Standing for extended periods and climbing ladders or stairs in confined spaces.
• Strong comprehension and application of regulations and avionics troubleshooting procedures.
• Professional interaction with coworkers and supervisors.

Supervision and Working Conditions

• Work will be supervised by the assigned Avionics Team Leader.
• Employment occurs primarily in a hangar environment with extreme temperature fluctuations.
• Outdoors work during aircraft runs is expected.
• Work will require various physical positions around and on the aircraft.

Tools and Equipment

• Mechanics supply their own hand tools.
• Use of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment, jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
• Operation of tugs, power carts, crimpers, soldering irons, heat guns, and computers with work order documentation.
