About the Role

Join Avanceon's expanding Operation & Maintenance team supporting the Ashghal Road Tunnel Program in Qatar. This role demands a passionate Maintenance Engineer focused on SCADA systems, ensuring the continuous, secure, and dependable operation of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on SCADA nodes and control centers.
• Diagnose and resolve software, communication, alarm, and system performance challenges.
• Manage system patch updates, perform backups, test redundancies, and validate failover mechanisms.
• Oversee historian data, alarm systems, integration points, and the overall health of SCADA infrastructures.
• Document operations meticulously with logs, Root Cause Analysis reports, maintenance records, and change documentation.
• Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers, consultants, and internal teams to drive improvements and handle escalations.
• Provide support for cybersecurity measures, asset lifecycle management, and system upgrade activities.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 5 to 6 years in hands-on SCADA maintenance, preferably in infrastructure or utility sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of AVEVA System Platform, including Intouch/OMI, Historian, and Galaxy Repository.
• Exposure to PLC systems from Schneider, Siemens, or Rockwell.
• Strong grasp of OPC UA/DA protocols, industrial networking, system redundancy, and distributed architectures.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, technical documentation, and clear communication.
• Holding a Qatar driving license is advantageous.

Educational Background & Certifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering at the bachelor's level.
• Preferred certification in AVEVA System Platform.
• Additional certifications in networking or cybersecurity will be considered a plus.
