About Us

We develop autonomous electric vehicles designed specifically for last-mile delivery. Our vehicles operate efficiently in complex urban settings, revolutionizing grocery, food, and parcel logistics by enabling businesses to operate without traditional limitations, with 24/7 delivery capabilities and setting new standards in modern logistics. Our team comprises engineers, researchers, and vehicle experts dedicated to advancing autonomous vehicles from testing environments to real-world application.

The Role

We are seeking a Field Engineering Intern to join our autonomous vehicle team for a six-month period. This hybrid position combines on-site driving and testing of autonomous vehicles with software development and system maintenance to support fleet operations. The role is suited for engineering students eager to gain practical experience driving autonomous vehicles and working on the back-end software and tools.

Due to the driving and vehicle testing responsibilities, this is an on-site part-time engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Observe autonomous vehicles during testing sessions, acting as a trained safety driver prepared to take manual control instantly if necessary.
  • Adhere to and assist in refining testing protocols, safety measures, and pre-drive checklists.
  • Monitor vehicle actions and system functionality in real time, noting and reporting any disengagements, anomalies, or unusual scenarios.
  • Gather, log, and annotate data from test drives to aid autonomy and engineering teams.
  • Assist in creating, testing, and maintaining vehicle software and internal tools including logging systems, diagnostics dashboards, and fleet-management utilities.
  • Investigate and reproduce system issues, collaborating with software and autonomous engineers to diagnose and fix problems.
  • Support daily vehicle preparation tasks such as sensor inspections, calibrations, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation efforts, and ongoing improvements to field operations procedures.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with Linux environments and version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong situational awareness, and ability to remain composed and focused under pressure.
  • Passion for autonomous technologies, robotics, or self-driving systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic coursework or practical experience with robotics frameworks (such as ROS), control systems, or sensor technologies including LiDAR, radar, and cameras.
  • Experience with building internal software tools, scripting, and data analysis workflows.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems, embedded programming, or CAN bus communication protocols.

Benefits

  • Hands-on opportunity to operate and support actual autonomous vehicles in real scenarios.
  • Guidance and mentorship from seasoned engineering professionals, with exposure to the full autonomous vehicle technology stack.
  • An opportunity to implement software and process improvements that have immediate, practical impact on daily team operations.
