Overview
Massey University, a distinguished leader in New Zealand’s education and research landscape, invites applications for the position of Associate Professor within the School of Management and Marketing at the Albany campus in Auckland. This full-time role involves a 37.5-hour work week with an annual salary between NZD 142,607 and 166,584 (2026 rates).

Role Responsibilities
The Associate Professor is expected to provide leadership academically in teaching, research, and service. Core duties include delivering undergraduate and postgraduate education, supervising theses and research projects, shaping curriculum development and assessment strategies, and mentoring academic personnel. Furthermore, the role encompasses fostering a vibrant research culture, engaging with industry partners, and contributing actively to the academic community.
Candidate Profile
Applicants must possess a PhD in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Analytics, Digital Business, or a closely affiliated field. Candidates should demonstrate recognized expertise and leadership within these specialties evidenced by a strong publication record and international scholarly reputation. Experience securing research grants and contributing to externally funded projects is essential, alongside a proven track record of teaching and supervision at various academic levels.
The ideal candidate exhibits capability in curriculum oversight, quality assurance, staff mentoring, and promoting collaborative academic environments. Familiarity with diverse teaching methods including blended, distance, and multi-campus modes is an advantage. A commitment to understanding the cultural context of Aotearoa New Zealand and Māori aspirations, aligned with the university’s Te Tiriti-led mission, is expected.
