Nua Healthcare Services is a major care provider in Ireland, delivering residential support, supported living, day services, and community outreach for children and adults with complex support needs. This Assistant Support Worker position is based in Bansha, County Tipperary, Ireland, and offers a frontline salary of 35,000 to 40,000.

What you will do
You will support people who use the service in a compassionate, respectful, and practical way, helping them work toward greater independence, fuller participation in their communities, and a better quality of life. The role also includes working closely with colleagues and service users to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Help individuals plan and manage everyday routines and activities.
- Support community participation and social inclusion.
- Assist with education, skill-building, and personal goal achievement.
- Encourage independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and staying connected with family and friends.
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice as required.
- Work flexible shifts within a 24/7 service model.
- Carry out additional duties that reasonably fit the needs of the role.
Experience and support needs handled by the team
The team has experience supporting people with a variety of complex needs, including autism, Asperger syndrome, acquired brain injuries, challenging behaviour, intellectual disabilities with Alzheimer’s or dementia, mental health rehabilitation and recovery, and personality disorders.
Training and development
No formal qualification is needed for this position. Full training, a detailed induction, and continuing development support are provided so you can build the skills needed for the role.
Working pattern
This is a shift-based position on a seven-day roster, with hours spread across a 24-hour service. Flexibility and reliability are important, and the successful candidate must be able to adapt to service requirements.
