Role overview
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Rydalmere, New South Wales. The Assistant Production Coordinator will support the fashion and textile design production process and help keep daily factory operations running efficiently. The role is hands-on and central to coordinating assembly activity, improving output, protecting quality, and supporting safety across the coverings production line.
Key responsibilities
- Create, revise, and manage daily production schedules, task lists, and workflow plans.
- Check that work orders, cut sheets, and other production documents are complete, correct, and ready for use.
- Monitor order status and chase up issues such as delays, shortages, rework, or sequencing problems.
- Work with warehouse teams to confirm material availability and keep component records up to date.
- Maintain production boards, reporting formats, and quality-related records.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, including HDMS reporting and 5S audits.
- Serve as a main point of contact between Production, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Quality functions.
- Assist with WHS administration, including safety documentation and incident follow-up.
- Perform any other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly setting is required; experience in blind making is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organisational ability and a strong eye for detail.
- Comfort using schedules, data, and structured operating processes.
- Ability to balance several priorities in a busy, fast-moving production setting.
- Clear and confident communication skills with a disciplined approach to follow-up.
- A Certificate or Diploma in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related area is preferred.
- Exposure to Lean, 5S, or broader continuous improvement practices is considered an advantage.
Compensation and benefits
The annual base salary is between AUD 75,000 and AUD 80,000, plus superannuation.
