About the Role
The Office of Health and Safety (OHS) at Nanyang Technological University Singapore leads comprehensive health and safety management university-wide, overseeing areas such as biosafety, chemical, radiation and laboratory safety, occupational health, audits, incident reporting, and governance.
We are looking for an Assistant Manager specializing in AI and Data Systems to support the ongoing digital transformation efforts of OHS. This role involves developing and maintaining digital tools, dashboards, automation workflows, and data-driven insights to reinforce safety oversight, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiencies across the institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, maintain, and improve digital systems, dashboards, trackers, and workflow tools used by OHS.
- Gather, clean, analyze and visualize health and safety data to aid management decisions, risk assessment, audits, inspections, and program evaluations.
- Identify and apply effective automation, AI-powered, and low-code/no-code solutions to optimize OHS procedures and enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with OHS program owners, academic units, departmental centers, and system partners to collect requirements, carry out user acceptance testing, create supporting documentation, and assist with system implementation.
- Generate dashboards, reports, and analytical insights to facilitate evidence-based decision-making, maintain audit readiness, and drive continuous improvements.
- Provide end-user support, develop training materials, and offer recommendations for ongoing enhancement of OHS digital tools.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Science, Safety & Health, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant work experience involving data analytics, digital platform management, workflow automation, project coordination, business analysis, or IT service delivery.
- Familiarity with Google Gemini, Microsoft 365 suite, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Excel, or comparable analytics and workflow technologies.
- Strong skills in data analysis, documentation, project coordination, and engaging with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices, data governance, info security, and digital output validation is preferred.
- Experience working in safety & health sectors, higher education, research institutions, or other regulated environments is an advantage.
- Demonstrates independence, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks within strict deadlines.
