About the Role
The Central Land Council (CLC) is seeking a full-time Artificial Intelligence (AI) Specialist for a fixed-term contract of 12 months. This role is a technical position within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. The AI Specialist will lead AI governance, risk management, and the integration and operationalisation of AI technologies across the organisation. The principal objective is to ensure AI adoption is managed strategically and securely, safeguarding culturally and legally sensitive information while enabling staff to utilise authorised AI tools effectively and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee AI governance and risk management within the CLC.
- Manage the technical integration and operational use of AI technologies organisation-wide.
- Ensure responsible and lawful use of AI tools in line with organisational policies.
Remuneration and Benefits
- Starting base salary from $115,873 per annum, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
- Tax-free salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually for general expenses plus $2,650 for meal entertainment, potentially increasing net income by $3,000–$6,000 per year.
- Superannuation at 15.4% SG rate.
- District and remote allowance: approximately $3,910 (single) or $7,170 (with dependents) yearly.
- Five weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading, plus paid Christmas/New Year shutdown leave.
- 18 days personal/carer’s leave plus cultural leave entitlements.
- Leave airfare allowance and relocation assistance if applicable.
- Temporary housing support for candidates relocating to Alice Springs.

Mandatory Requirements
