Role Overview
The Analyst EDD is responsible for performing comprehensive due diligence on existing customers. This includes verifying customer identity and profiles, evaluating risks, determining beneficial ownership, and ensuring compliance with internal standards. Additionally, the role requires coordination with various stakeholders and vendors to ensure thorough investigations within specified timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial due diligence for customer onboarding and KYC by verifying necessary documentation.
- Authenticate customer identities, including name, address, and date of birth, using government-issued identification, and identify Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) for legal entities.
- Assess customer activity to evaluate risk levels, assign appropriate risk ratings, and flag high-risk customers for Enhanced Due Diligence.
- Identify and investigate alerts and anomalies, ensuring complete documentation to support findings.
- Complete EDD cases within defined turnaround time targets.
- Maintain accurate case tracking and MIS reporting for management review.
- Screen customer documents and profiles to detect abnormalities requiring further investigation.
- Document all due diligence efforts and research thoroughly to maintain audit trails for future reference.
- Engage with customers directly to clarify profiles and collect necessary documentation for EDD procedures.
- Coordinate with external vendors for required reports and information.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including branches, to raise alerts and monitor timely case closures.
Performance Metrics
- Effectiveness of screening alerts and investigations with proper documentation.
- Timely completion of EDD casework within defined service levels.
- Accuracy and punctuality in maintaining case tracking systems and management information systems.
- Successful coordination with stakeholders and vendors to resolve issues promptly.
