Role Overview

We invite individuals who are soon-to-be graduates from Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanics or related disciplines to join our team as Aircraft Technician - Mechanics. This role involves hands-on work with the DHC-515 Firefighter (Waterbomber) aircraft in a cutting-edge facility in Calgary, Alberta. Successful candidates will support production and major modifications of De Havilland aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble and install mechanical components and systems such as engines, landing gears, and hydraulics by following blueprints and assembly guides.
Fit, adjust, and align mechanical parts including engine mounts and flight control surfaces, ensuring precise placement.
Connect various systems including fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/mechanical interfaces adhering to manufacturing standards.
Perform quality inspections on assembled parts ensuring compliance with engineering and regulatory standards, including functional testing.
Interpret technical documents and communicate any inconsistencies to supervisory personnel.
Maintain workplace safety and cleanliness, managing tools and equipment responsibly.
Disassemble components for inspections, document findings, and suggest repair techniques.
Install, rig, and test mechanical systems per manufacturer instructions maintaining safety and quality.
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical concerns and provide corrective recommendations.
Utilize specialized tools (torque wrenches, rivet guns, precision instruments) for assembly tasks.
Keep meticulous records of work performed and parts utilized, ensuring adherence to industry documentation standards.
Adapt to additional duties and shift work as operational needs arise.

Candidate Profile

Recent or upcoming graduate of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program from SAIT, Okanagan College, Mohawk College, BCIT, or Fanshawe College.
Enthusiastic to gain practical experience and develop expertise in aerospace manufacturing.
Able to follow detailed technical documentation accurately and work safely with tools and equipment.
Collaborative team member thriving in hands-on environments.
Detail-focused, well-organized, and physically capable of working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
