Role overview

UGL is looking for an Aircraft Refueller to support Defence Aviation operations at RAAF Townsville, Queensland. This opportunity suits both experienced refuellers and those interested in starting a career in aviation fuel operations. The position sits within a growing long-term operations and maintenance contract and offers the chance to contribute to work that supports Australia’s security.

The role is part of a respected Tier 1 service provider environment, with a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and operational excellence. While experience in Defence or fuel operations is an advantage, UGL provides training and development for suitable candidates, including local on-site and off-site learning as well as occasional specialised interstate training.

Key duties

• Assist in supporting the Defence Fuel Network across Australia to maintain dependable and high-quality operations.
• Inspect refuelling vehicles, equipment, and paperwork before use to confirm they are ready for service.
• Perform daily fuel quality testing in accordance with safe work procedures, checking for water and other contaminants.
• Approach and refuel Australian and international military aircraft safely by setting exclusion zones, using bonding equipment, and following aviation safety standards.
• Complete post-refuelling records, including meter readings and customer sign-off, and escalate hazards or incidents without delay.
