About the team

The AI Deployment Engineering group helps organizations put OpenAI technology into production in a safe and effective way. The team works directly with customers as technical advisors and partners, helping them identify valuable use cases, design workable architectures, and move from early prototypes to reliable deployments.

Cybersecurity is a high-priority area for AI adoption. Security teams have to analyze code, logs, infrastructure, tickets, alerts, and vulnerability data quickly and accurately. As frontier models become more capable, teams need strong technical guidance to evaluate, validate, and safely introduce AI into security-sensitive workflows.

About the role

This position is for a Cyber AI Deployment Engineer who will work with customers to apply OpenAI models, APIs, Codex, and agent-based workflows to real-world cybersecurity problems. You will partner with CISOs, security executives, application security leaders, SOC teams, security engineering teams, and technical practitioners to identify where AI can drive measurable security improvements.

The role is customer-facing and highly technical. You should be comfortable operating across executive-level strategy, deep cyber expertise, and hands-on solution design. The work includes helping customers evaluate and deploy use cases such as secure code review, vulnerability triage, threat modeling, remediation, SOC and incident response workflows, detection engineering, cloud security, GRC automation, and security validation.

You will collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Engineering, Research, and Security to convert customer needs into safe deployment patterns, reusable field materials, and product feedback.

What you will do

  • Work closely with strategic customers as the technical owner for AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows, acting as a trusted advisor to both business leaders and hands-on security teams.
  • Run discovery sessions across application security, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, SOC and incident response, detection engineering, red teaming, cloud security, identity, and GRC automation.
  • Create and present demos, prototypes, workshops, proof-of-concepts, and reference architectures using OpenAI APIs, Codex, agents, scripts, command-line tools, GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, logs, tickets, scanners, and standard security tooling.
  • Define pilots with clear success criteria, data needs, workflow integrations, evaluation methods, security limitations, safety guardrails, and human approval steps.
  • Guide customers on safe implementation approaches, including tool/function calling, structured outputs, retrieval, sandboxing, data handling, guardrails, telemetry, auditability, and approval-based side effects.
  • Bridge the gap between CISO-level business outcomes and practitioner-level technical implementation so each audience understands value, risk, and next steps.
  • Develop reusable customer-facing assets such as demo stories, playbooks, FAQs, objection handling guides, qualification frameworks, assessment templates, and competitive positioning.
  • Collect, validate, synthesize, and communicate high-quality feedback to Product, Engineering, Research, Security, and go-to-market teams based on repeated customer needs, blockers, product gaps, and emerging security workflows.

What you should bring

  • At least 5 years of experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, security architecture, cyber advisory, deployment engineering, professional services, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Strong cybersecurity knowledge in one or more areas such as application security, cloud security, identity, vulnerability management, secure SDLC, incident response, detection engineering, threat intelligence, red teaming, or security architecture.
  • Ability to speak credibly with CISOs, CTOs, security executives, engineering leaders, and highly technical security practitioners.
  • Practical experience building prototypes or production systems with APIs, Python or JavaScript, agents, scripts, CLIs, GitHub workflows, CI/CD systems, logs, tickets, scanners, or similar security tools.
  • Understanding of AI workflow design involving retrieval, structured outputs, tool use, evaluation, guardrails, telemetry, sandboxing, and human review.
  • Comfort with turning ambiguous customer pain points into pilots by defining success metrics, required data, workflow integrations, evaluation criteria, deployment assumptions, and decision checkpoints.
  • Sound security judgment backed by evidence: you verify findings, distinguish signal from noise, document assumptions, and avoid overstating model or security claims.
  • Ability to own problems end to end, work across multiple customer projects at once, and decide when to stay hands-on versus build reusable leverage for the wider team.
  • A humble mindset, willingness to support teammates, and a strong drive to help the team and customers succeed.
