About the Role
The TikTok User Growth team plays a vital role in expanding TikTok's global user community, which numbers in the billions. The team's primary objectives include boosting user acquisition through both paid and organic channels worldwide, optimizing the conversion flow of new users to enhance retention, facilitating user engagement mechanisms to promote active participation, and leveraging alternative TikTok platforms such as TikTok Lite, TikTok Pro, and Web to target diverse user segments. These strategies collectively aim to drive rapid increases in TikTok's Daily Active Users (DAU). Some typical projects involve AI-Generated Content (AIGC) creation, Search Engine Optimization for organic user acquisition, and smart ad delivery systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend systems that support TikTok's user growth initiatives, capable of handling high concurrency and complex business logic.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Frontend Developers, and Data teams to provide comprehensive solutions for user growth.
- Enhance core growth features such as user behavior analytics, A/B testing frameworks, and real-time decision-making systems.
- Research and integrate AI-driven applications into growth strategies including intelligent algorithms, automated data analysis, and AI agent architectures.
- Contribute to full-stack development where necessary, improving development cycles and iteration speed by assisting with frontend or end-to-end tasks.
- Lead technical excellence efforts including optimizing system architecture, increasing engineering productivity, and influencing technical best practices within the team.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience programming in Go, with a strong grasp of concurrency models and performance tuning techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to develop highly available distributed systems that support high-throughput environments.
- Strong data engineering expertise with knowledge of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and experience working with MySQL, Redis, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with user growth processes such as event tracking, A/B testing methodologies, and analyzing user engagement; ensuring data integrity and real-time processing capabilities.
- Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures, including strong debugging and system optimization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective team communication and collaboration skills.
- Some experience or interest in full-stack development, including web frontend technologies and Node.js, to support prototyping efforts.
- Experience with AI agents or a keen interest in applying artificial intelligence, including working with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and automation tools.
